Huw Griffiths Lic Ac has practiced acupuncture for over 28 years and has helped many people to bring positive and lasting changes to their lifestyle & recover their vitality and health.
Huw’s unique approach to illness and particularly stress related chronic problems, emphasises the importance of identifying and treating the underlying cause of the illness, not just the outward manifestation or symptoms, in this way supporting your body’s own natural ability to heal and to improve resilience in everyday life.
Huw trained with foremost teacher of Five Element Acupuncture the late Proffessor J.R Worsley and graduated from the college of Traditional Five Element Acupuncture in 1990.
1998 – 2005. Huw was the director of the Complete Health Care Clinic in the City of London and Co director of the Community Acupuncture Project in North London. During this time his client base was largely made up of overworked, high achieving city executives which gave him insight into the impact on the body/mind of today’s demanding lifestyles. Clients often presented some of the now common complaints of anxiety, insomnia, depression, fatigue and tiredness, back pain, digestive disorders, skin complaints and more distressingly for those trying to start families – infertility. The growing prevalence of these problems led Huw to focus more specifically on the alleviation of this type of condition, addressing the root causes of stress induced and chronic problems, and helping people to make the changes necessary for improved health and wellbeing to the core of the individual.
Huw is a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, trained to teach, at The Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at The University of Wales, Bangor and teaches meditation and mindfulness as a way for clients to further develop and help maintain physical, mental and spiritual health in everyday life.
Philosophical and spiritual subjects such as Taoism and Buddhism have been a strong inspiration in Huw’s life, and he has attended many teachings in support of his own personal meditation and mindfulness practice.
Huw currently practices in Bath and in Kensington, London.
