Initial Consultation and Diagnosis
During your first acupuncture consultation a full history of your general health and details of your current symptoms and lifestyle is taken into account, this helps to establish a clear picture and understanding of the underlying cause of disease and to formulate an appropriate treatment plan. Acupuncture diagnosis focuses on the individual person and not just their illness. All symptoms are seen in relation to each other, so, two people with the same western diagnosis will be treated differently.
Acupuncture works by bringing balance to the flow of subtle energy Qi through out the body. The insertion of very fine, sterile needles into specific points along the meridian pathways are used to help stimulate the flow of qi. This helps to clear blocked, weak, and imbalanced qi, and re establish the free flow of qi through out the whole body. This in turn nourishes and revitalises the whole body, and helps to clear and calm the mind and emotions.
